Antonio looked around him marvelling at the greenhouse. It looked like it hadn't been used in some time, but was still in decent shape so he checked around the greenhouse looking for cracks or anything else that could possibly not be working. Luckily he found that everything was working correctly, to his relief. He was no repair man after all. He glanced around the greenhouse once more and smiled, content that he'd only have to deal with a couple of overgrown plants and some weeds that had snuck in somehow.
He decided to get started on his project right then and there seeing as it was only the beginning of the school year and so he'd have very little homework. Glancing around he saw a shed so he walked over and opened it to reveal some basic gardening tools. He grinned to himself glad that whoever had last used this greenhouse at least had known a little about what they had been doing.
Finally, Antonio set to work, reveling in the feeling of dirt around his fingers as he started his weeding. While doing so he thought about what he'd plant. First, he figured, he'd plant the tomato seeds he'd brought with him from Spain. Then maybe... Well he wasn't sure what he'd plant next, but maybe some flowers? Yeah that sounded like a good idea. And maybe some vegetables as well. It'd be nice to grow some of his own food at least, to help him get adjusted to this strange new country.
Humming to himself, Antonio continued to work steadfastlly quickly becoming absorbed in what he was doing and ignoring everything else around him. He had a lot of work to do and couldn't wait until he would be able to start growing things.

When Ivan had heard about the gardening club, complete with a greenhouse and everything, he was so excited! After all, with the sun and the warmth here in America, he could have a little garden of sunflowers all for himself!
With that thought in mind, the Russian made his way happily to the greenhouse with a bag of sunflower seeds he'd gotten from the store, completely unaware that the seeds were roasted and salted and not at all fit for planting. He paid no mind to the other person already in the greenhouse. Instead, he made his way to a corner with some trays of seed starter. Ivan happily dug small holes in the dirt, planting a single seed in each little section of the tray, all the while imagining a lovely future with wonderful, bright blooms.
After all the holes were filled, he filled up a watering can. He briefly thought about how much water he should give. Sunflowers had to grow up to be very big, yes? So he should give them lots and lots of water, of course! With this intention, Ivan poured waterr over the tray until the soil was completely saturated with water. There, he thought, that should do the trick, yes? He felt very proud of himself for knowing exactly what to do!

Antonio'd been working for a while when he noticed that there was someone else there. Looking over his shoulder he saw a tall person who was wearing a scarf even in this greenhouse climate. What a strange person~. Deciding first to finish his planting of his tomato seeds he turned back to his task.
Having finished weeding that row of he went back to the beginning and worked his way down making holes in the soil and planting his tomato seeds each time carefully patting the soil back down to cover the individual holes. Once he finished with that he went back once more and watered carefully. Having finally finished he found a little stake and stuck it at one end of the row showing that he'd planted there.
Straightening himself back up Antonio grinned proud of his work. Now to see how that other one was doing, he was the new leader of the Gardening Club after all. Walking over he noticed drenched patch of soil and the bag of roasted sunflower seeds. 'Oh dear,' he thought to himself, 'This won't do at all'
Announcing he presence, he said to the taller male, "Hola! I'm the leader of the Gardening Club; you can call me Antonio! What are you trying to plant?"

Ivan turned around quickly at the sound of the voice, a hand reflexively moving towards a nearby shovel. It took him a moment to realize that the man was not a threat. "Ah, you surprised me!" he said with a smile. "You should not sneak up on people, yes? I might have hit you by mistake, and that would have been very bad!" He would have been very upset if he had accidentally hit this very friendly person. Antonio, he told himself. His name is Antonio, he said. Remembering names is a good thing!
He suddenly remembered that he had been asked a question. "I am planting sunflowers, of course!" He lifted the bag. "I have sunflower seeds, and I have planted and watered them, and now they shall grow, yes?" Ivan glanced back at where Antonio had been working, and he saw the freshly planted ground. "What is it you are planting over there?" He noticed the little stake at the end of the row. "Oh, you have a picture of a tomato there! That is a very smart idea! Do you think I could have a picture for my sunflowers?"

Antonio had noticed the reflex towards the shovel so had instinctively settled into a better position to defend himself, but when the taller male didn't finish his maneuver he relaxed a little. He had to remind himself sometimes that he wasn't in Spain anymore, but still, old habits die hard. He heard the other's response and merely nodded, his smile getting a bit more guarded.
Upon seeing the bag his guarded smile turned into a frown. Ahh, he couldn't expect to grow anything with seeds that had been roasted did he? Well, despite his bad first impression he decided he'd give the other the benefit of the doubt. Plus, as the leader of this club it was his job to help anyone who needed it, si? And actually, that the other was planting sunflowers of all things was kinda... cute. And he couldn't stay mad at cute things even if they had apparently nearly hit him with a shovel~. So, Antonio decided to give it a try and said, turning his frown upsidedown, "Well, unfortunately your seeds there have been cooked so I don't think they'd grow much of anything. Did you buy them at the grocery store? If you want to grow sunflowers you need to get the seeds from a gardening store. Although I am unsure as to where one would be since I'm new to this area, but we can look for one together sometime, si? And we can get you a picture of a sunflower while we're there to tape to a stake so you can use it to mark your plants!"
