Hello, Honda Kiku.
» Is there anything you would rather be called?
I will respond to ‘Kiku’ or ‘Honda,’ but I’d prefer you not come up with a nickname for me.
» Great, now that we've got that covered. How old are you?
I am sixteen, but many people say I act much older than my age (some even going as far as calling me an “old man stuck in a teenage body”).
» Thanks! Slipped my mind. Now, do you know the super secret code word?
“Sakura Sakura” by Rin’ {{Really pretty song, btw~}}

Let's talk about your personality.
» What are a few of your favorite things?
I rather like being alone, in a peaceful and quiet environment. Simply sitting and admiring the silence is enjoyable by itself, but reading, writing, and drawing are quite relaxing.
Solitude, in my opinion, is most serene and beautiful when one is outside in nature. My favorite place is probably sitting beneath a beautiful, shady tree, preferably on some sort of seating and preferably a cherry blossom. My hometown is famous for its weeping cherry trees, and I have grown to love them. I heard the capital of America has a collection of them and even has an annual festival for them, but the pictures I've seen aren't quite as fantastic and elegant as the ones we have in Japan. Nature in general is beautiful; animals, plants, even the nonliving objects like rivers and even rocks have their own beauty.
In a very different direction, I also am quite fond of video games. I prefer games that involve strategy and a bit of thinking, but also with a RPG aspect. Action and simulation games are my favorites as well. I suppose it's safe to say I enjoy all video games.I also love anime and manga, and am somewhat of an otaku. I also prefer drawn, 2D women to real ones. No one knows this, though.
»That's interesting. Is there anything you absolutely dislike?
Yes, but I very rarely get angry or upset over things; usually I just become mildly annoyed. One of those things are fluctuations in pricing. My family is not in poverty, but wasting money is something I hate above all else!
...Except maybe cockroaches. Those disgusting creatures have absolutely no beauty and are nuisances.
Another thing I have a severe distaste for is nudity. It is simply inappropriate to be shirtless in public or even less! H-how can one be comfortable exposing so much skin, anyway? Physical contact also makes me rather nervous. I maybe hug my family every so often, though by now I think they've realized I'm not a "hugger." (Well, everyone but Yong Soo.)
» Hm, what is your greatest fear?
I admit, I am a little apprehensive about my move to America. I know very little of the culture, but I know it will be quite different from what I am accustomed to and comfortable with. I'm not the strongest English speaker, and am still working on my 'l's. I am aware it's an international school, though, so obviously English is not every student's first language. I suppose that's a little comforting. And being completely alone. Losing my mother or other family members would probably kill me.
» Yeah, that is scary. Do you have any dreams for the future?
I haven't given the future much thought, though I am interested in inventing and technology. A career in a similar field would be ideal, but I have no interest in living in the city. I once visited Tokyo, and to be very honest, didn't enjoy it so much.
» Wow, I hope you succeed. Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?
I am an extremely calm person, and as stated earlier, I never lose my temper. Frazzling me is an extremely difficult task.
I am curious by nature, and often question how things work and why. Many may find it odd that I love school, but studying is one of my favorite activities. Knowledge is a powerful weapon, though it is one that can be difficult to learn and wield.
I also am rather reserved, rarely speaking unless addressed first. I foresee myself spending much time in the library, or outside if I find a suitable tree to relax under. My reclusive nature may be one of the reasons I didn't have many friends at home. I-I don't need friends, though...they aren't very useful and are burdensome.Though making a friend in America wouldn't be all that bad.
In this interview I have been answering fairly honestly and straightforwardly, but that is not always the case. I have a bad habit of replying indirectly when I don't want to say "no" outright.

So far so good. Now for history.
» So tell me, where are you from? What did you think of it?
Kakunodate in the prefecture of Akita in my homeland of Japan. It was a rather secluded, rural place, but it was quite beautiful. One of the most peaceful places on Earth, in my opinion.
» Do you have any other family? Parents? Siblings? Extended? What do you think about them?
My father died when I was very young ((God, I just like killing off the dad don't I? ; )) so I was raised by my mother and grandmother. Okaa-san was almost always busy with her work, so Obaa-sama took care of me most of the time. She taught me to appreciate the quiet and calm of nature. We used to sit outside for hours without talking and just admire what Kami-sama gave us.
I also have a multitude of cousins, including Yao, whom I usually call "nii-san," Mei, and other I don't care to name. I'll simply say one of my unnamed cousins is quite...attached to me...and leave it at that. Nevertheless, Ilovelike them.
I also have an Akita puppy back in Japan that I will miss considerably. It is unfortunate that animals aren't allowed in the dormitories.
» What is your worst memory/memories?
The day Obaa-sama died, my eyes seemed to dull, the enthusiastic sparkle in them faded away. When I found her, unmoving and sitting beneath a tree, my world seemed to stop. I was only eleven. From then on, I found solace in solitude, sometimes rarely even speaking to my mother.
» What is your best memory/memories?
My best memories? The ones with Obaa-sama are probably my favorite, but I also like my peaceful alone time. Not a single time in particular stands out currently.
» Where are you now? What are you doing with your life?
I am in school and being studious as ever. I most likely will not have time for sports (not that I'm athletic anyway) and maybe only join a few clubs. I don't know what is in store for me in America, but I am confident I'll be fine as long as I consider any problems I face analytically.
